However, it is learnt that Southern star Dhanush was “aghast” over the concept of endorsing a beauty soap. It was co-star Sonam who managed to persuade him. Sources say that it was on June 25 that Dhanush flew into Mumbai after a flash promotional trip to Chennai to promote his new Tamil film Maryaan, and shot an ad for Lux with Sonam.
Generally in these soap ads, heroes with extreme fair colour are employed as these soaps need such type of people to publicize the outcome of their product. But shockingly, our dark hero is neither fair nor so muscular to bring the most of requirement. For these reasons the soap makers are quite unhappy with the ad. But do you know why the ad was shot in the first place? Upon the insistence of a sexy heroine who co-starred with our dark hero in that flick, the soap makers agreed to take this guy. Otherwise, Sonam is heard blackmailing them of quitting that endorsement deal if they don’t take him.
A source said, “Initially, Dhanush who is extremely self-deprecating about his looks was aghast at the idea. ‘How can I endorse a beauty soap?’ he argued. But it was his new buddy in Mumbai Sonam who convinced Dhanush to give it try.”
