Disturbing footage has emerged of a woman going on a rampage in an Aldi supermarket, smashing hundreds of bottles of alcohol in just minutes.

The woman remained silent as she threw thousands of pounds worth of alcohol from the shelves in the Hertfordshire store.

Footage taken by other shoppers shows the woman, dressed in a hoodie, backpack and yellow trousers, dragging wine, beer and spirits from the shelves before smashing them on the floor in front of shocked shoppers.

After five minutes of havoc, a security guard managed to remove the woman from the premises.

But she had left a trail of destruction behind, with a mess of broken bottles carpeting the floor.

She was taken to hospital for treatment after cutting her hand during the bizarre rampage

TV presenter Lee Clark, 50, was in the store and said the woman must have smashed at least 500 bottles during the “incredibly dangerous” incident.

He Says : “It was extraordinary, I’ve never seen anything like that before in my life.

“She didn’t say a word the whole time and had a very vacant look in her face. A man told her to calm down so she threw a bottle of gin which hit him in the leg.”

Lee said there were around 50 shoppers in the store at the time, including a mother with a young child.

“I guess she couldn’t find one (bottle) she liked,’’ a person commented on social media

Chimed in another: “500 bottles of booze on the wall, 500 bottles of booze, take one down, throw it on the ground, 499 bottles of booze on the wall.”

Added another: “I hear voices of other people. Curious why no one tried to stop her? They certainly had plenty of time.”
