The legendary singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, who was hospitalized in August after testing positive for COVID-19, died on Friday afternoon at a private hospital in Chennai, He was aged 74
Balasubrahmanyam was hospitalized in August at MGM Healthcare after testing positive for COVID-19, and while he reportedly did well initially, he took a turn for the worse, and was put on a ventilator and ECMO support (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation)
He has sung over 40,000 songs in as many as 16 languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
Previously, it was reported that SP Balasubramanyam was responding well to the treatment and was also expected to be discharged. Director Venkat Prabhu is the one who first shared the news on his Twitter page, and shocked the fans. SPB may have left this world, but his soulful songs will keep his legacy alive.

SP Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last at 1:04 PM on September 25.
SP Balasubrahmanyam’s untimely demise has come as a huge shock for the South film industry. Celebrities and fans are shocked to know that the singer with an infectious smile is no more. They have been taking to social media to share their grief.
SPB was also bestowed with Padma Shri Award in 2001 and Padma Bhushan in 2011.
