Luxury fashion brand Gucci has been mocked for selling “upside-down” sunglasses for £470 (Rs 45,800). The Inverted Cat Eye accessory was released earlier this week. The Italian fashion house tried to lure customers with free delivery within a day. However, the luxury glasses were mocked by shoppers who poked fun at the item’s bizarre design.

“An unconventional take on the ‘50s and ‘60s inspired cat eye frames, these sunglasses are presented with an inverted design that creates an ‘upside down’ effect. The frames and temples are created using multiple layers of black and white acetate. Enamelled floral details and a petite ‘Gucci’ logo further enrich the design,” that’s how Gucci describes the high-ticket product

Writer Porochista Khakpour posted a photo of Gucci’s upside-down sunglasses on Twitter and asked, “Gucci, why are we doing this?”

The post quickly went viral on social media, receiving more than 1.3 lakh likes and over 8,900 retweets.

Neitzen’s Reaction –

One user tweeted ,Yall have no idea what youre talking about. I hate the fashion industry cause its capitalist co opting of genuine artistry, but these glasses are honestly “worth” what they’re charging. High fashion is actually art, it’s not meant to make you look hot to the babes or whatever.

Looks normal to me other user tweeted-

I wonder if Gucci ever stopped to think that just because they “could” doesn’t mean that they “should”. Other netizen tweeted-
