The famous Indian comedian, Bharti was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in Mumbai. This happened post the questioning and search of the comedian and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa residence on Saturday morning.
When asked by the Media outside the NCB’s Mumbai office about the reason for their arrest, the comedian replied “They called us for some questioning that’s all.”
The anti-drug agency on Saturday morning recovered a “small quantity of cannabis i.e 86.4 grams” during the house search.
The couple, Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa who stay in an apartment complex in Andheri were seen with the NCB and were driven in two separate vehicles guarded by the NCB personnel.
The statement of Bharti Singh that the NCB summoned them for some questioning only was shattered when Sameer Wankhede, one of the investigation officials quoted to the ANI “She (Ms Singh) and her husband have been detained for questioning about possession of narcotics substances,”
The drug probe that began with the alleged murder of a famed bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput few months ago led to a series of raids and summons by NCB. The Narcotics Control Bureau has been trying to open up links when it comes to the drug use and abuse by the biggest entertainment industry.
The most recent questioning in the drug use was from Arjun Rampal and her girlfriend Gabrielle Demetriades’s home was searched. Some amount of cannabis was found but the actor told the media that the drugs were prescribed and the prescriptions have been handed over.
Earlier these few months big names like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Ranbir Singh, Rakulpreet surfaced where the managers of these superstars were said to be their source of drugs and we’re summoned by NCB for questioning.
