A six-yard elegance that every woman would dream of draping at least once in a lifetime – you guessed it right, A Saree! Being a traditional attire in India, there isn’t a slight chance that it is not loved by most of the womenfolk. Accessories aid in adding up to the beautiful look that the saree brings. Whatever the saree’s material or the type, the right accessories bring out the ethnicity in the drape. Ethnic sandals, contemporary jewelry, matching brooches, there isn’t an end to the list of accessories available. Women are spoiled with dil ki deals and often get confused on how to get the look together. This is where we have come up with a detailed post on the accessory combinations that look the best for a saree.

    1. Statement Earrings

This is a craze that has caught on big. Styling any saree, be it a plain cotton one or a traditional kanchivaram, with a statement earring can never go wrong. Usually, the earrings to be styled with a saree are the jhumkas, chandbali earrings, chandelier earrings, and latkans. Silver or a gold one will be the pick of the day to define the ethnic look.

    1. Belts are the trend

Waist belts have made a comeback. It has swept away the fashion world and comes in a variety of designs, not just in the traditional gold or silver leather, lace, cotton with embroidery – all these now adorn the waists.

    1. Bindi

Again, a tradition, this has now turned into a fashion statement. Pairing up the saree with a Bindi – a single red dot or a stoned dot gets about an ethnic look. It infuses confidence in the look.

    1. Statement Necklaces

Big chunky Necklaces & Sets are back to wooing the crowd. Skipping the earring, wearing a stunning showstopper necklace adds a fashion alternative to the look. The mantra here is to be minimalist.

    1. Jacket Blouses

A trend started by the celebrities of Bollywood, a saree paired with an intricately embroidered jacket pulls off the look of a diva. The jackets with a mandarin collar make a smart statement. A sleeveless jacket paired with armlets brings out the fashionista in an individual. A modern yet vintage twist to the attire.

    1. Footwear

Footwear brings in the much-desired edge to the saree look. There are style statements to be made when pairing an ethnic sandals for women with a silk saree or pairing a sneaker with the same silk saree. Both work and bring out different versions in the individual. Remember to pick the footwear that you are comfortable in and can walk around with ease.

    1. Brooches

Shoulder brooches hold the pallu in place. They have been there all the time, but only off late they are seen as a fashion statement. For the chic look, we suggest you go for the jhoomers. Correct brooches add the much-wanted quirky style to the look.

    1. Hair Accessories

An eye-catching hairdo and trendy hair accessories have made many heads turn. Tiny clips, hair bands, and buns help not only to keep the hairdo in place but also serve as style statements. A traditional saree, in general, doesn’t allow much scope for accessories, but a saree with a big tikka on the forehead is sufficient to charm the world.

    1. Nose pins
    2. Once considered out of fashion, the nose rings are back with a bang. They are now available in a vast range of materials and designs. All that is needed is the confidence to carry off the ring.
    3. Flowers

A traditional look calls for wearing flowers. The choice of the flower and the way in which it is adorned can change the style of the saree. A jasmine worn straight brings about a simple look, while the same jasmine when it surrounds a bun on the hair brings about more grandeur. A rose on the side is considered chic even today. Do not settle for artificial flowers and rather go for the in-season fresh ones.

    1. Clutches and handbags

It is difficult to go anywhere without a bag or a purse. We need to carry our essentials, after all. Bags don’t have to be a sore point in your style statement while carrying off a saree.  Statement clutches or potli bags are now the accessories to go for to complement the saree you wear. Keeping them in contrast colors is not only dressy but serves the purpose too.

    1. Shawl and cardigans

It is not uncommon for women to pair up their sarees with cardigans or shawls during winters. With a little effort, this can be a sort of style statement. The secret here is to pair up the shawls with sarees using the basic color techniques. Never overdo the shawl or cardigan so that the attention is taken away from the saree.

And one last accessory that beats everything on this list is your smile and confidence. Be comfortable in whatever you wear and be confident enough to pull off the look. Whatever the final attire be, if you are self-assured, you are unquestionably the fashion diva always.
