Tamil feature film Vada Chennai (North Chennai) starring National Award winning Dhanush and directed by National Award winner Vetrimaran, released its soundtrack on Sunday with raving reviews and the music trending in youtube and streaming platforms Saavn and Jio Music.
The soundtrack is also the 25th album of Santhosh Narayanan who had earlier given music to Rajinikanth’s Kaala and Kabali.
Vada Chennai is return of actor-director Dhanush – Vetrimaran duo after multiple blockbuster hits over last few years with Polladhavan and Aadukalam. Their bonding went further with their production of Visaaranai (Interrogation) which was 2017’s India’s entry into Oscars and Kaaka Muttai (The crow’s eggs) which won National Awards.
Vada Chennai is an ambitious project from the duo, as its not only makes a comeback for the duo, but is also produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar films. The cast also has an ensemble cast of Andrea, Aishwarya Rajesh, Samuthirakani, Ameer.
The music has been released with streaming partners Saavn and Jio Music having exclusive window, and the album has been trending in youtube as well. The highlight of the album includes songs sung by Dhanush, Sid Sriram, but also the Chennai urban folk Gana artists used by Santhosh Narayanan.
