In the final lap of a closely fought race between Robert Wickens, Pascal Wehrlein and Timo Scheider, suddenly the Audi motor-sport boss Dr Wolfgang Ullrich steps in and gives Scheider the command “schieb ihn raus” – which translates to “push him out” – over team radio.
Both Mercedes drivers were eliminated from the race and Scheider was later disqualified, but no additional penalty was given to Audi.
