Comedian Vivek turns hero with the upcoming film titled as Naanthaan Bala which is produced by J.A. Lawrence on behalf of his Triple S Entertainments. Kannan, who had been assisting director Bala in his films, turns director with Naanthaan Bala which has music by Venkat Krishi while its cinematography is taken care of by Manavalan.
Talking about his hero avatar, Vivek says “I have played the hero in the film which is a commercial venture with some ‘unseen’ stunt sequences by ‘Super’ Subbarayan. Naa Muthukumar, Ilaiyakamban and the late Valli have penned the lyrics in the film. In fact, the lyric by the great Vaali is his last lyric in his illustrious career. We are proud that our film features this song.
“Before taking up the offer, I was apprehensive of playing a hero in a serious script after acting as a comedian for 25 years. I was indecisive till I met Kamal Sir who encouraged me to go ahead with it saying that I had done enough comedy in my career and added that it was the right time for me to go for character roles. He also said that it might reveal another dimension of mine to the audiences.
“It was only after his advice that I committed myself to starring in the film which has now been completed. The film would be a milestone in my career. It would also be a film to be loved and cherished by other comedians as well. I’m sure that the film might also be considered for awards at various festivals. We are planning to launch the audio soon. Kamal Sir would take part in the audio launch and I’d love to keep the suspense about who would be the other VIP in that function,” concluded Vivek.
