A woman and her family from Khandwa have filed a complaint in Khandwa police station, against a 26-year-old software engineer from Indore for marrying another woman. The ‘first-wife’ who is a resident of Bajarang Chowk in Khandwa—alleged that ‘the man has married two women within a span of five-day and then fled’, police said on Sunday. She alleged that he married her (in Khandwa) first and after a few days he married another woman in Mhow.

City superintendent of police Lalit Gathare said ‘that woman and her kin came to the superintendent of police office on Saturday and submitted a complaint’.
According to the complaint, ‘one of the Khandwa victim’s relative who had gone to a wedding dinner in Mhow tehsil of Indore sent photographs to her family through mobile phone on December 7 of the accused’s second marriage in five days’, the police officer said.
The police are conducting a probe into the matter, Khandwa’s Kotwali police station inspector B L Mandloi said.
As per the complaint, the family spent Rs 10 lakh on the marriage and household items given to the bride.
‘After December 7, the accused did not return home and switched off his mobile phone’, Mandloi said. ‘Search was underway for the absconding accused’, he added.
