Debasis Mohanty was one of the unlikeliest Hero of Indian cricket the 1999 World cup. He was not a pacy bowler but he was suited to English conditions where he would nibble the around.
Debasis Mohanty is a former Indian cricketer who played as a left-arm fast-medium bowler for the Indian national team. He made his debut for India in 1997 and represented the team in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches. He played for India till 2001 and also represented Odisha and East Zone in domestic cricket. In his international career, he took 36 wickets in 21 ODI matches and 11 wickets in 7 Test matches. He is one of the best fast bowler India has ever produced.
