Taapsee Pannu responds to tweet that said she has ‘mard ki body’ : read full news

Taapsee Pannu knows how to take compliments, as well as, how to react to insults. 

The actress, a day before announcing the release date of her new film Rashmi Rocket, shared a picture of herself, in which she has her back towards the camera, from the racing tracks. Taapsee, who plays the role of a sprinter named Rashmi in the film, garnered a whole lot of praise after her physical transformation for her role in Rashmi Rocket. However, after a publication shared her photo with the caption: “Guess who?” a Twitter user wrote that only Taapsee Pannu can have a manly physique like this and wrote: “Ye mard ki body wali sirf Taapsee hi ho sakti hai.”

Taapsee responded, “All I will say is Just remember this line and wait for 23^rd September. And advance mein THANK YOU I really worked hard for this compliment.”

Rashmi Rocket has been co-written by Kanika Dhillon, who, together with Taapsee, tackled several trolls and even a professional critic for their opinion about their previous collaboration, Haseen Dillruba. Directed by Vinil Mathew and co-starring Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane, Haseen Dillruba debuted directly on Netflix earlier this year. She recently appeared in Annabelle Sethupathi, which released on Disney+ Hotstar.

Rashmi Rocket is Taapsee’s third straight-to-streaming release of the year. The actor in recent interviews has spoken about becoming a major box office draw, but her last theatrical release was 2020’s Thappad. She also has Looop Lapeta, Dobaara, Shabaash Mithu, her debut production Blurr, and other films in the pipeline.

Taapsee is certainly not the first woman who was shamed for sporting muscles. Actor, model, and fitness enthusiast Bani J has also talked about being shamed for the way she looks.
